Five In A Row is played like Connect 4, except with multiplication facts. Each board has products from one group of times tables. This sample is all x1. Students roll two dice (or 1 dice-in-dice) and add up the total rolled. They then multiply the total by 1 and find the product on the board. Color the product in. Once the product is colored in, it is their partner's turn. The first student to color five in a row, column, or diagonal wins. I encourage students to be strategic and place their colors close together or block their partner's. This makes for a great center or free time activity to reinforce fact fluency.
