This has always been one of my favorite poems/finger plays! After reciting the poem, students can use the large picture cards to retell the poem as a whole group. Later, this independent station works great for comprehension after several days of reciting this poem together. Students can sequence the pictures and the words in a pocket chart to retell the poem. Students may also work with ordinal numbers to match the dialogue in the story. A copy of the poem is included for monitoring and self checking.
