The lesson plans include detailed instructions for teaching the poem, rhythmic activities and developing a rhythmic B section as a class to first, second and third grade utilizing half notes or eighth notes. Additional adaptions and extensions are also addressed.

• 40 slides created with PowerPoint 2010 (with 10 slides being teacher and student interactive) may be used to reinforce rhythmic reading and aurally identifying rhythm patterns utilizing eighth notes or half notes.
