There are several ways that these quick little word problems can be used in your classroom. I use them with my daily calendar routine: I copy them, cut them out using a paper cutter, pass them out, and ask the students to glue them to their calendar page (Cara Carroll has a great little packet in her shop, called Calendar Companion). The students solve the problem, and we spend a few minutes discussing different ways to solve the day’s problem. It’s quick, easy, and effective. My sweet students have really sharpened their math skills this year!
