The Caucasus and Central Asia is a region of the world understudied and under-reported by many in the mainstream, but students of geography know its significance. This assignment provides a workable map for tactile learning. Students may add physical features to a simple black-and-white political map. The questions provided may seem simple, but each question covers an individual inter-disciplinary aspect of geography, allowing for discussion and expansion of research skills: history, topography, politics, culture, and environment. Teachers can use this exercise as an opportunity to teach practical research skills. Map, additional questions and teacher instructions included.
