This product is a student-authored class book about the five senses. Each student picks and draws a "mystery" object at the top of their paper. Then, students get to write clues based on the five senses: it looks like, it smells like, it feels like, etc. It is best that students do their pictures and writing somewhere where other students cannot see or read about the mystery object (like with the aid of a private office or clipboard). Once students are finished with their picture and writing help them tape a black piece of construction paper over their picture only like a flap. Compile all the students' papers into a book format and then read the book to the class, giving the students a chance to guess at each other's "mystery" object. There are two formats of the product: one with clues representing four senses for objects that (shouldn't be) taste-able and one with clues representing all five senses for taste-able objects. Students love reading their own writing and the writing of their peers, especially when it comes in a fun format like this! For more creative writing ideas and prompts, please check out my TPT store!
