A series of hands-on experiments, visual aids and a report-writing template are the main components of this Five Senses unit for Primary Students. In detail, this unit includes:
2 experiments per sense
except for taste (1 experiment) with a step-by-step guide on how to conduct each experiment.
a table of contents explaining the concept
being taught in each experiment and a list of necessary materials. All materials are readily available household goods - no science kit is necessary.
5 visual posters
labeling the parts of each sense in kid-friendly language.
a template for building a report
on the five senses. One sheet of note paper per sense with dotted lines to help young writers and one sheet per sense of non-dotted lines for more advanced writers. One sheet for scientific drawings, based on included visuals, of the eye, ear, nose, tongue and nerves throughout the body. This drawing sheet can be copied and used for each of the senses.
