I use these graphic organizers to go along with our five senses unit. My students love being able to organize their learning in fun ways and I like that the pages keep them interested longer than just writing in their journals! Each page can be used for a variety of activities and allows you to create your own lessons suited for your individual classroom. Included in the packet:
-Introduction/pre-test to the five senses
-List page for good smells and bad smells
**I use this page with a smell exploration activity. I hide different items in bags and let the students smell them first prior to figuring out what each item is. Then the students decide which smells they liked or did not like.
-1 writing page to describe a favorite smell
-Sound hunt graphic organizer-
**Students walk around the school building pausing to listen and record what they hear at each spot.
-I spy writing page
-Touch graphic organizer (with room for illustrations)
-Final writing page with all 5 senses
