I use this activity after I have covered the topics of Observation, Inference, Predicting, Classifying, and Making Models. Each student gets a copy of the blank data table. Each group of four students gets one of the strips containing 4 statements. The students have to decide if each statement is a definition or example of one of the five skills. They have two minutes to complete that station. The students then rotate to the next table where there is a different strip of paper with 4 new statements. They rotate through five stations and then we review the answers. The answer page is included in this file. This activity supports Grade Seven California State Science Standard - Scientific progress is made by asking meaningful questions and conducting careful investigations.
