Help your students understand the five themes of geography through an interactive activity. Students will find classmates who have experienced geography themes first hand.
Students will work together to learn about the themes of place, location, human interaction, regions, and movement by asking each other questions such as: Did you plant trees, flowers, or vegetables? Did you swim in a lake? Did you dance a dance brought to our country from another country? To learn firsthand about the five themes of geography.
After a timed activity, ask students who has the most signatures from classmates. Then ask them to review their answers to find out how the classmates experienced the five themes.
