New for January 2018! Included in this packet are 15 fix it up sentences worksheets (86 sentences total) designed for emergent readers to practice capitalizing the first letter of a sentence, the pronoun I, names, days, months, and holidays, as well as end punctuation and commas in a list! I’ve used mainly Dolch pre-primer to second grade sight words, as well as January-theme words and phrases like winter, skates, mittens, etc.
This packet can be used in full or you can use different worksheets to help students at the level that they are at individually. The worksheets gradually increase in level of difficulty, so that in the first few pages students practice end punctuation, then the pronoun I, and names of people and places. Toward the middle of the packet, days, months, and holidays are introduced, and the last third includes commas in a list. Once a concept is introduced, such as names, I continue to include practice for that concept as much as possible throughout the rest of the worksheets. I also try to make each page have a bit of a story or cute theme.
The worksheets can be used individually or put together with a title page, two contents check list pages, and back cover page to make a cute little fix it up sentences book. Simply print on either side, staple the top, middle, and bottom of the left side of the pages, and the book is all set up! An optional capitalization and punctuation rules bookmark is also included, so that the kids can be given a helpful rules reference if they need it.
