Fixing Absurdities is designed to address listening and logic skills for the Pre-K, K, and 1st grade population.
This product includes 100 printable cards and an open-ended game board.
A single absurd sentence is printed on each card. The cards can be used for two listening and logic activities.
In the first activity the students listen as a sentence is read aloud. The teacher/SLP identifies a word in the sentence that should be changed so that the sentence makes sense. (Words that should be changed are underlined on each card.) The students state a word that could be used to replace the absurd word in the sentence.
In the second activity the level of complexity increases. The students again listen as the sentence is read aloud, but now they must figure out for themselves what they can change in the sentence so that the sentence makes sense. The teacher/SLP does not provide cues as to what should be changed.
Listening for details and use of logic are required to complete the tasks.
