Flag Quilt Block

Make a Flag Quilt Block is a paper quilting activity. It includes:

* instructions for making a paper flag quilt block

* 2 patterns {one with 1" squares and one with 1.25" squares}

* helpful hints for constructing the blocks

* examples of completed blocks

Students construct a flag quilt block with paper squares. The blocks can be displayed in an array to appear as a quilt. {Sample photo of array is included.}

This art activity can be used for patriotic holidays such as Fourth of July, Veteran's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, or an extension activity for a social studies unit on flags.
