This teacher's guide was created as a resource to be used when teaching the novel, Flat Stanley, by Jeff Brown. It was intended for a second grade level but could be used anywhere from Kindergarten - 3rd grade. (55 pages)
This guide contains five activities. Each activity contains different websites that correspond with the activity. The activities consist of: 1. Story writing activity - which includes a Stanley template and a brainstorming sheet, 2. Rhyming comprehension activity - which includes a 10 question rhyming comprehension page with a word bank, 3. Stanley around the world - a pen pal activity - which includes a sample letter and a Stanley template 4. "I have, who has" comprehension game - which includes 15 comprehension cards and a vocabulary game - which includes 24 vocabulary cards and 5. Story elements activity- which includes 20 question/answer cards. (Directions for each game are included in the guide.)
This teacher's guide also includes assessment materials. Included are a test rubric, a ten point vocabulary matching quiz, a ten question fill in the blank quiz, and an essay question. The answer key is included and also the Pennsylvania State Standards that correlate with this guide.
