Here is a complete week's worth of literacy lessons that meet Common Core standards while engaging your students with three tiers of differentiated interactive activities. While the book "Fletcher and the Falling Leaves" is featured, any fall/autumn narrative book will work. By the end of the week, your students will have made an interactive lap book that they (and their parents) can enjoy!

Describe how words and phrases (e.g., regular beats, alliteration, rhymes, repeated lines) supply rhythm and meaning in a story, poem, or song.
Describe how characters in a story respond to major events and challenges.
Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.
