These are printable cards to use in your classroom for grouping and differentiation. They can be used in a variety of ways to enhance learning, sort your students, or even ensure equity.
Instructions for use:
Print these (with a color printer) and cut them out. Tape them to each student's desk at the beginning of the year. The students can even match their materials to the cards (I match them to the students' interactive notebooks and folders).
Use these to create flexible groups. You can call out/organize the groups in a variety of ways depending on the task. If you want small groups, ask the kids to get into groups based on their color. If you want 4 total groups (think stations), tell them to get into groups based on their emoji. Pairs could group by odds/evens, hearts/no hearts, etc. You can do color and emoji, etc.
Additionally, if you have a class where the same 3 kids volunteer all the time, you can use these numbers to call on kids randomly. I downloaded a number randomizer online that pulls up a number for me. This has helped TREMENDOUSLY with participation.
I numbered these 1-48 (in case you co-teach a larger classroom).
