This Flexible Seating Bundle Includes:
Flexible Seating Lesson Plans for Your First Week of School
There is a lesson and short activity specifically for each type of seating option that you have available in your classroom. Lessons have an emphasis on modeling and gradually become shorter as students master flexible seating expectations. I provided a mentor text to use for kindergarten through second grade. Separate mentor text and discussion questions were also provided for third grade and beyond. Use the spread sheet to help organize your students to ensure everyone tries each seat the first week.
Flexible Seating Options Featured:
Standing, Laying, and Sitting Around the Room
Stools, Stepstools, and Crates
Lawn Chairs and Scoop Seats
Flexible Seating Lesson Parent Information Letter
This letter informs parents of the research behind flexible seating, focusing on information from Kayla Delzer and Erin Klein. The letter provides a space for you to sign your name and contact information. Enjoy!
The second version of the parent letter omits the phrase "in our classroom without desks." No other changes included.
Flexible Seating Expectations Posters
Give your students and bright and friendly reminder of their flexible seating expectations with these posters.
The posters come in 10 different colors to match your classroom theme. They also come in two different versions-- one set has language appropriate for primary grade levels and the other set is appropriate for secondary grade levels.
