Why Flexible Seating?
Flexible Seating areas are options for the classroom that provide children to work on their reading or general classwork, without being restricted to a chair all day.
Management of Flexible
I have been using flexible seating in my classroom for many years now. I started off just calling them Study Nooks. Study Nooks are places in the classroom where students can read quietly during their independent reading time. I found that I was tired of saying where children can go and decided on a child friendly management system. This system allows the student to pick as a morning job or assign the chart as a job for a student.
How does the chart work?
Teachers cut out an assemble chart. You can either use the number card system included or you take a picture of each student and cut out and move scholars’ number/picture to a spot and they keep the spot for the entire day. Everyday the student has a different spot.
Step 1: Print out File
Step 2: Cut out chart along border
Step 3: Paste together the ends where the borders should meet
Step 4: Laminate the chart
Step 5: In the black squares on the chart attach Velcro or Magnetic Dots. (Also attach to student number cards or student picture cards)
Step 6: Hang chart and start rotating flexible seating areas.
Please ask questions before purchasing. I made the entire chart customizable for your flexible seating and likes.
