The ability to abandon one way of thinking in order to think of other possible solutions is called flexible thinking. This handout uses parent-friendly language to describe ways parents can help their child begin to think more flexibly. Please note that this letter does not contain any reference to a specific diagnosis, but the information may be helpful for your students struggling due to ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and learning disabilities.
