The objective of the Paper Airplane Factory is to provide a comprehensive, realistic opportunity for the students to form small companies and apply for a government grant to obtain working capital to start their own paper airplane factory. Each factory must develop and test a variety of paper airplanes with specific flight performance characteristics. To obtain this challenging goal, the individual company must barter, rent or buy materials from the other companies in the class. The Ministry of Defence, the teacher, will be hosting a major flight competition, offering substantial cash awards for aircraft that meet their S.P.F.C. (Specific Flight Performance Criteria).
