Description

This Flinking lab is a simple, engaging way to walk students through the steps of the engineering design process. One of the challenges I find teaching the engineering design process is having enough class time for students to change and re-test a design multiple times. This lab allows for the opportunity to quickly design a prototype, test it out, and then and to quickly re-design many times for improvement. I've found any age level enjoys this lab and the frustration of trying to make something flink! This lab does assume the scientific method, engineering design process, and scientific practices have been taught. The lab is editable, so it can easily be changed to suit your needs by removing or adding questions. The lab was designed for a high school level, but I believe an honors middle school science class could complete this lab easily too.
