Students flip two cards and determine the smallest two digit number and the largest two digit number. They will then write 'how they know the number is that number' I.e 27 has 2 tens and 7 ones, is 20+7, is one more than 26, is one less than 28.
Students will then show the number on the number line!
You could laminate these and so the kids can write on them then erase for the next number. I am planning on using the write and wipe pouches.
