I use this flip book with RTI students since it is a researched based multisensory instructional strategy. It is a great way to practice blending sounds to read words.
First print the template on card stock or construction paper and laminate if you wish. Then cut on the perpendicular vertical and horizontal dotted lines keeping initial, medial, and final sounds together in stacks. If you ever get them mixed up sort by the lines around each. If you like, you can bind them together on the binding machine. I love this method because the cards stay in the order that I like and they don't get lost. But you may prefer to not bind them and just leave them in stacks and flip over the cards so you can control the sounds students practice. If I bind them, I place the cards in the order they are introduced in the classroom and when practicing we can just stop at the sounds we have not covered yet. I have some that are bound and some that are not depending on the instructional setting.
Now all you have to do is flip the cards and students have a simple easy way to practice reading cvc words to become fluent!
