There are 56 cards included in this deck. There are 40 cards with real words and 16 with nonsense words. All words contain “th” (voiced or voiceless) in the initial or final word position.
Game Option 1 (UNO Game)
Print, cut and laminate cards. Pass out 6 cards to each player and
put the rest of the deck face-down in the middle of the group.
Turn one card over and place it next to the pile.
Players play the traditional UNO game, and as they take their
turns, they can complete any of the following tasks:
• Decode the word
• Use the word in a sentence
Game Option 2 (War game)
Use only the first 40 cards with numbers for this game. Print, cut
and laminate cards. Shuffle the deck and divide into 2 equal piles.
Give each player (or team) a pile.
Both players hold their pile face down in their hands. They flip 1
card up at the same time. Have each player complete the target
task. Then the player who has the higher number wins both cars.
If the numbers are equal, players put 3 more cards face down and
flip 1 more card up to see who wins all the cards in that round.
