Are you looking for a new way to practice reading words containing digraphs? Flip It! is exactly what you are looking for! Flip It is a fun way to look a digraphs in a variety of ways. This game can be played with a partner or small group.
You are given 35 word cards containing digraphs, at the beginning and at the end along with a stack of "do it" cards. You can copy each set you wish to use on different colored card stock. The students will then place each stack face down and flip one card from each stack, when we play we say, "1-2-3 Flip It."
There are 18 different ways students are going to show their understanding of the numbers, from saying the word in a "monster voice" or "rhyming" the given word with an new word, to building that word using the given word cards (or you could use magnet letters). You as the teacher, are able to decide whether or not you want to use the sheets provided (I laminate mine so that the students can reuse using dry erase markers) which included a place to perform many of the "do it" tasks or if you want the students to use manipulatives.
This game is truly meant to help students develop a better understanding of words containing digraphs while having some fun too. I truly hope you enjoy this game!
