Who doesn't LOVE FLIP FLOPS???
Students will enjoy this True or False activity with a spring/ summery feel.
You can use this in a pocket chart or a math center.
CCSS.Math.Content.1.OA.D.7 Understand the meaning of the equal sign, and determine if equations involving addition and subtraction are true or false. For example, which of the following equations are true and which are false? 6 = 6, 7 = 8 – 1, 5 + 2 = 2 + 5, 4 + 1 = 5 + 2.
Have students put the “True and False” cards at the top. Turn the other cards face down. Students choose a card one at a time, determine if the number sentence is true or false, and place them in the appropriate columns of “True or False” (there are addition and subtraction cards).
Students then record their answers on the recording sheet.
