Do your administrators want you to post the 5th grade Florida Standards? Do they want you to have scales and activities posted as well? You can SAVE A TON OF TIME by purchasing this set. I have "unpacked" the standards for you!
These Florida Reading Standards and Scales Posters provide a quick, easy, and effective way to display and show students and administrators which Florida Reading Standards are being taught. Students can easily assess themselves to see where they are at on the scales with the included data tracking sheets. Once purchased and printed, I recommend laminating or placing each page in a sleeve protector for durability and to continue using for years and years.
This is a complete set of 8.5 x 11 posters aligned to the Fifth Grade Florida State Standards (LAFS), for your classroom (Reading Foundational, Literature, and Informational Text). There is a separate poster written for each and every 5th grade Florida reading standard. The goals and scales keep the intent of the standard, but are adapted to words students understand, which make them student friendly goals and scales.
This resource contains student friendly learning goals and scales
for the 5th Grade Reading Standards for Foundational Skills (RF), Reading Standards for Literature (RL), and Reading Standards for Informational Text (RI). Each standard has four scales (1-4). Scale 3 for each standard is the learning goal, and has the Depth of Knowledge (DOK) level listed. A section for you to write activities with your students is next to each scale. Students and teachers are not “cookie-cutter,” so activities will not always be the same in each classroom.
Included on Each Poster:
*FL standard typed at the bottom
*large-print, student friendly “I Can” language
*a 1-4 scale with number 3 always being the proficient level
*Depth of Knowledge Levels (DOK) included for each learning target (scale number 3) to help guide instruction
*A section for you to write activities with your students is next to each scale. Students and teachers are not “cookie-cutter,” so activities will not always be the same in each classroom.
I have also included a set of data sheets for each standard so that students can record and track their own learning, and so that you can record when you have taught, assessed, and reassessed each standard. (I keep these sheets in my plan book, and my students keep theirs in data binders/folders. I have data conversations with my students monthly to discuss progress about what individual students can do to improve their learning.)
