This Florida Native American Interactive Notebook is a companion to the Florida Interactive Notebook. While the Florida Interactive Notebook gives the student an overall look at Florida, this Interactive Notebook is a more detailed, research- based product. Note: This product was made as a guide for students to research the local Native Americans. Answers may vary depending on areas and teacher's preferences. The Topics range from Native American Vocabulary, with an additional page for other words the teacher wishes to include. Students will have to locate each of the tribes/groups of Florida, and find details and facts about each group. They also use a color coding system to locate the groups on a map of Florida. Other topics include Native American words still in use today, and a section for students to write titles of stories and/or myths of each of the tribes they will research. I have included a section on Florida Native American Mounds, and a number of pages for students to draw or cut and paste pictures of the mounds and Native American artifacts. There is also a page for the student to discuss if he/she would have liked to have lived as a Native American before the Europeans arrived.
I have also included a full page outline of the map, so you can locate more tribes than space allows in the Interactive Notebook.Lastly, I hope you and your students enjoy this Interactive Notebook, which opens up the rich heritage of Florida, and the part the Native Americans played in the state we enjoy living in today.
