Product Description
In this lab students will dissect a flower to learn about the different parts of a flower.

Materials needed:
-A hand lens
-A flower
-Scissors
-Pencil
-Tape
-This lab sheet!

In this lab, students will identify and describe the following seven flower parts:
-stem
-sepal
-pistil
-petal
-stamen
-pollen
-ovary

Higher-order questioning is included throughout the packet. Students will be asked to compare and contrast the sepal and petal; to draw and label what they observe; and to make inferences about why flower parts look the way they do.

Instruction for how to clean up after the flower dissection ends are also included.

I completed this lab activity with my own students and they absolutely LOVED this hands-on activity. Check out my blog: www.gofourthandlearn.weebly.com to see my student results!
