Perfect to use in spring or at any time of year when you need to put a little 'spring' into understanding addition!

Use the dominoes in a math center/small group activity:
~Spread dominoes out on table. Students select a domino and ‘add’ or ‘join the groups’ to find out how many flowers are on the domino.

Optional recording sheets (2 versions) are provided. Students can write the numbers of flowers for each side on the recording sheet and then add or join the groups and write the answer. They can use an eraser dipped in an ink pad to show the ‘flowers’ and/or dots made w/ a marker to make it more colorful, festive and fun!

Use for introducing ‘joining groups’ with ‘and’/’is’ language and then use them again as you teach about the + and = signs for addition practice and review.

Use the number/picture cards for support.

For enrichment- challenge students to find dominoes that are within the same ‘fact family.’ Recording sheet is provided, as well as a printable for a challenge and practice. Can lead to discussions about decomposing numbers, as well (Ex. 6 can be 6 & 0, 5 & 1, 4 & 2, 3 & 3, 2 & 4, 1 & 5 or 0 & 6)

Use the dominoes for other math activities, games & more!
