About this book:
This book contains 13 flower shape cards for a shape sorting and counting activity. Recording sheets are also included.
Directions for use:
To prepare the flower cards for use, print pages 5-17 onto cardstock. Laminate for durability and then cut out the flowers and petal shapes along the dashed lines. Print the recording sheets (pages 18-24) on regular paper and make a few extra copies. Store the recording sheets together with the flowers and petals. Alternatively, you can store each shape, petals and recording sheets separately or 2 in each set, depending on how you will use the activity with your students. A label page has also been included if you wish to use it on your storage device.
For this activity, you will need to supply children with a set of magnetic/foam numbers (1 to 10), or small number tiles.
Children randomly select a number and place it in the center of the flower. They then count out the corresponding number of petals and draw their response on the recording sheet provided.
Happy Teaching :)
