Celebrate the arrival of spring with this flower song sheet!
More than just counting, it teaches number identification, number order and one-to-one correspondence.
The children will cut apart the sets of flowers and the numerals from one sheet and glue them onto the song sheet in correct order. Once they are finished, they can sing:
"One little, two little, three little flowers..."
For the last line, we have the children decide on a descriptive word and we all do that action, such as "ten little jumping flowers."
If putting the numbers in sequential order from 1 to 10 is too easy for a spring activity, have the children put them in reverse order from 10 to 1.
The two pages included should be copied onto legal-sized paper.
Great activity for a substitute!
