Product Description
Animated Step-by-Steps are animated PowerPoints designed to address literacy, language, AAC and a host of academic goals. Each page includes a series of animations. Read the text up to the star … click … and see an animation of what you just read.

This Animated Step-by-Step craft provides a recipe for creating flubber, a sensory material that is a little bit like a solid … and a little bit like a liquid. This resource is available in three formats. This is the Regular Version (non symbol-supported). I am told it is important to shake the liquid starch in its container before you measure.

Based on the pictures offered on the web, the terms flubber and slime seem to sometimes used interchangeably. The flubber recipe offered with this resource yields a material that is more rubbery and more like a solid than a liquid. The key to success with this recipe is in being careful to mix everything well. If you need to trouble shoot problems, the following link is an excellent resource, designed for slime but also applies to flubber. In addition to the great sensory qualities of flubber, flubber can also be used as a science project highlighting the properties of polymers. White glue is a polymer (a large chain of molecules with smaller units that repeat) allowing glue to be poured. When liquid starch is added to the glue-water mixture, the polymer chain is altered causing the new mixture to thicken into flubber.

This resource can be displayed on the 'big screen' (interactive whiteboard, large screen TV using Apple TV) or the 'small screen' (computer monitor, iPad/Android tablet using the free Microsoft PowerPoint app). I really like using a remote switch to allow all students to share the magic of activating the animations.
