Fluency is described as being able to express oneself readily and effortlessly. The way students are able to have fluency is by knowing sight words, have expression, and to have speed. Some students have poor fluency not because they don't know the words or because they don't comprehend what they are reading, but because they are hanging on every word. The Fluency Board Game helps students get better at fluency by reading nursery rhymes quickly and effortlessly. Another way the Fluency Board Game helps students is through sight word recognition.
Fluency Board Game was made for a third grade class, but could easily be adapted for other ages.
Fluency Board Game is a fun and interactive game. Students will either move their piece on the game board or have to perform a task. They may jump around the room or do five jumping jacks. The reason for this is to keep the game fun and the students engaged in an activity that may be difficult.
