Great resource for record-keeping, and data management!
Students can track their own progress by graphing the number of correct words per minute. These visuals give your kids a concrete representation of their reading fluency progress.
Use any leveled reading passages that you already have. Place one of these fluency graph sheets in student interactive notebooks. Let them do the graphing with a buddy after you model.
Whether or not you are doing intervention, having kids graph their own progress gives them self-empowerment, too! They see immediate feedback as soon as they complete their graphs.
They'll enjoy filling out these "climb high" graphs, which can provide helpful information and valid data for conferences, team meetings, and student profiles. When used in an informal reading assessment, the data is useful for student, teacher, and parents!
Once they have met their goals, give them a recognition page (and other optional ones included) to color, decorate, and cut out to proudly display on a bulletin board, or take home. This serves as a "certificate of recognition".
All Print-Friendly and Ready To Go!
Two pages include web links, suggestions, and directions for repeated readings and targets are also included in this file. A small chart is included with suggested fluency targets for grades 1-3.
