Fluency is defined as accuracy + speed. Fluency is a GREAT way to test for mastery but it is also super easy way to collect data.
Here is a fluency pack that contains 486 literacy flashcards.
R-Controlled Vowels- ar, er, ir, or, ur
Vowel Digraphs: ow, igh, oi, oy, ou, ay, aw, au, ew
Consonant Digraphs: ck, wr, kn, nk
Directions: Print, Laminate and Store in baggies or with rubber bands. I tape the label on the outside of each bag. If you plan to do discrimination trials make sure to write the name of each card on the back for easy sorting (example: “se” and “le” for short e and long e)
Baseline Data: Print a master copy and store in page protector. Make as many copies as you need. Give students all of the sets or the sets you think they need practice on. Determine if they have already mastered it, need to work on the skill now or if you want to save it for a later time (too difficult). Use your baseline data to determine the sets you are going to focus on with each student. I like to pick between 1-4 sets to focus on at one time.
Data: I have included 2 data sheets. One sheet is set up for multiple trials on one set. The other sheet is set up to test up to 4 sets at a time. Use whatever sheets work best for you. I test my kids 1-2 times a week.
