Revised Edition 2014
The purpose of this 34-slide PPT is to introduce and provide examples of what fluent reading sounds like.
There is a front-to-back Fluency Bookmark included that you may choose to print off and laminate for students to use as a guide.
Throughout the PPT, there is suggested teacher language to use in order to provide descriptive feedback to students in the 5 areas of fluency: rate, pausing, phrasing, stress, and intonation.
The second part of this fluency PPT deals with strategies to use before, during, and after reading. Engagement activities are embedded right into the learning!
Many of the slides contain teaching tips in the notes section to maximize learning and make the information engaging for students.
This is a great PowerPoint to help students understand that fluency is not just about speed.
