This is a complete set; six tests cover the whole book. These six ELA reading comprehension test for Flush were written for use in regular, inclusion, and special education sixth grade classrooms. In addition to the tests, this package includes character study guides for students, several modified sections and answer keys for teachers. This complete package includes 109 pages. There are between 37 and 49 questions per test.
The word modified only appears on the teacher’s answer keys. Therefore, you will have to sort these pages out when printing your unit. All modified questions are in the sequencing and character identification portion of the test and are on separate pages.
Each test is made up of multiple choice questions; sequencing questions; true/false questions; character identification — matching; and identifying quotes — fill in the blank. The test is easy to correct and provides an accurate tool to check student’s understanding of the material.
In keeping with the Common Core Standards, page numbers from the book are provided for each question for teachers who wish to encourage students to use the text to find their answers. The questions are designed to test: recognizing cause and effect; recalling facts and details; comparing and contrasting; understanding sequence; making predictions; finding word meaning in context; identifying author’s purpose; drawing conclusions and making inferences; interpreting figurative language; and understanding metaphors and similes.
You will want to consider buying my figurative language classwork package that I wrote for this unit.
Experience has proven that the more competent students successfully answer many of the questions using recall, while less competent students relied heavily on using the provided page numbers and the text, making these test a useful tool to help the overall student population become more confident readers.
