In this Power Point presentation about bird wings and their functions, created by Irene Henjum, the teacher presents information about birds, and their different wing shapes and functions. Information about penguins, hummingbirds, eagles, and geese is provided. Pictures of the bone structure of bird wings is also included. Students are given an opportunity to respond by participating in discussion with a partner and through a quick writing activity. Students discuss why birds can fly, different types of birds, and what type of bird they would like to be. Students participate in a 3 minute quick write activity where they write about what they would do if they could fly.
