My students love to hit things with flyswatters! I have found that using flyswatters in my classroom is really fun and motivating for the students. I made these cards to target important preschool skills such as letter recognition, number recognition, shape recognition, and beginning sounds. These can be used as a whole group activity or small group center.
Simply print, cut, and laminate and you are ready to go! Scatter the cards on the floor, give each student a flyswatter, and call out a letter. Students run around the room swatting only that letter. I use music and when the music stops the students must freeze. Then I call out another letter for them to find and start the music again.
I have also used these at a small group center where a scatter pictures on the table and tell the students to swat the pictures that start with the letter B, or the objects that are shaped like a circle. My students LOVE these games.
Cards can also be used in other ways such as matching games or flashcards. The pictures are very bright and colorful with a cute polka dot border. Enjoy!
