Product Description
This lesson features an agenda, warm-up, modeled lesson, interactive writing journal ideas, wrap-up, and homework. The entire unit consists of three lessons. This is lesson one. Lessons two and three can be purchased separately.
Word choice can be easily practiced during the writing process, especially during the prewriting stage.
This lesson can be modeled many ways: whiteboard, smartboard, large post it presentation paper, butcher paper, etc.
I suggest students keep a writing workshop interactive journal.
I suggest teachers keep a writing workshop station with pencils (with no erasers...because it is OKAY to mark through work), green pens (for revision), sticky notes, tabs, graffiti wall (place for students to write favorite sentences from literature, new vocabulary, etc.), and a RIP poster for the words that are retired in your classroom ("Said is Dead").
