Research has supported the importance of rehearsal or repetition to move knowledge from acquisition to maintenance. A typical child needs approximately 35 repetitions to achieve mastery of knowledge; however, some children need even more repetitions, and some above average children may need fewer repetitions to achieve mastery. Folding-In is a technique designed to maximize
the number of repetitions of new knowledge within a short period of time.
