Folklore, Legend & Myth: Vampires WebQuest Project Unit.
The Vampire myth is one that has changed, evolved, and persisted throughout the ages. These changes are commercial and cultural. This means that the myth of the vampire is rich and deep with detail. Our student’s knowledge is normally pretty shallow and contained within their own time. Meaning that they little to no knowledge of parts of the myth that were commonplace only a few decades ago. Meaning the subject is ripe for a research and informational reading project.
Students will conduct research using a WebQuest on the vampire myths for around the world and differing time periods, in order to be better prepared for the upcoming unit on “I am Legend” unit or to better understand and explore the ways myths, stories, and information change and evolve from region to region and with the passage of time.
Students will analyze and evaluate the facts, information from multipliable sources and keep notes. To prove mastery there a quiz and students will create a PowerPoint, Prezi, or Powtoon for presentation to the class.
The unit should last between 5-7 days
