PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Lesson plan included for practice retelling a story according to what happened in the beginning, middle, and end. The 'Beginning, Middle, End' anchor charts, writing template, and activity ideas can be used with any story and are also very helpful for when students are learning to recount their own narratives in writing.

This lesson plan also includes 6 posters with events (80 font) from the Native American Folktale 'Soft Child' as retold by Joe Hayes. Students will determine if the event happened in the beginning, middle, or end (by referring to anchor charts) and then justify WHY they think the event happened then by holding up a justification card (example: The event happened in the middle because it's the 'problem').
