This unit test covers each element of the following Common Core standards:
Recount stories, including fables, folktales, and myths from diverse cultures; determine the central message, lesson, or moral and explain how it is conveyed through key details in the text.
Describe characters in a story (e.g., their traits, motivations, or feelings) and explain how their actions contribute to the sequence of events
A folktale, fable, and myth passage with corresponding comprehension questions are included. Question formats vary, and include multiple choice, numbering events, and constructed responses. This test is great practice for Georgia Milestones or PARCC testing because it aligns to Common Core, and because of the format of the questions.
An interactive study guide is also included! The study guide includes a bulleted list of learning targets that students must "hit" to be prepared for the test. A list of academic vocabulary words is also included on the study guide. Hyperlinks to practice folktale, fable, and myth online passage are also on the study guide.
The test is 8 pages with large font and pictures. The study guide is 2 pages. There are ten total.
