Product Description
Go for the Gold!!! Students will follow clues to describe Olympic sports and vocabulary using the descriptive language of who, parts, location, and action. Visual structure is provided throughout the activities. These activities promote descriptive language skills, social interaction with questioning and answers between peers, and expanding sentence structure. It works bottom up to provide the detailed clues and student generates the answer, as well as top down where the item is given and the student describes it with details. The contents include:

~Clue cards with matching answer cards
*Set one describes who/parts/location for 6 Winter Olympic sports (hockey, bobsledding, snowboarding, figure skating, skiing, curling) with visual cue cards if needed for answer choices.

*Set two describes parts/action/location for 6 Winter Olympics vocabulary (podium, coach, judge, athlete, torch, medal) with visual cue cards if needed for answer choices.

~Picture choice board for students requiring more support

~A poster to go along with each descriptive set of clue cards identify the category of clues (color, parts, action).

~Descriptive Writing Sentence Builder
Each page has three sentences with supporting structure. There is also a word bank with three choices grouped by descriptive label. Each sentence uses all three labels taught within that descriptive set.

~Describe/Compare/Contrast Templates
Students will use template to describe characteristics. This can be done at either with vocabulary (describe two sports) or at the paragraph level (describe winter vs summer Olympics). The information is then used to compare/contrast using the Venn diagram on the page. Visual cues are provided on the page for the paragraph level.

~Visual map with descriptions of who/parts/location/action.

~Visual cue with meanings of compare/contrast.

~Communication pages to encourage carryover.
