Following directions can be hard.
This activity will ask students to do some things they aren't used to doing (Mrs. Teacher, please leave the room.) Find out if your students can listen and follow directions!
After the Teacher says, "Begin" students will listen and watch for their classmates to do or say something before they can follow the directions on their cards. It's a Follow the Leader to work on reading, listening and paying close attention to what is going on in the classroom.
I love playing this with 5th and 6th graders. I'm sure that students older and younger can enjoy the game too! I have played this in a normal, everyday classroom, and in ESL classrooms as well.
This set was created for a classroom of 36 students, but can be played with a classroom as small as 18 or so (each student is given 2 cards). Three cards each might be a bit much.
The same game can be played multiple times as students try to beat their previous times.
