This product is a board game to practice words in the -en, -an, and -un word families. Twenty words are practiced (most words in this version are basic CvC words with the exception of when, then, and than). Three versions of play are possible to meet the needs of all learners.
Version A: Player takes a card. Students work together to read the word. Player then moves game piece to the next closest spot with that word’s word family.
Version B: Player takes a card and attempts to read the word. If they are able to read the word correctly, player may move game piece to the next closest spot with that word’s word family. If they cannot read the word, player loses a turn.
Version C: An adult or capable reader is designated word caller. Players must listen to word being read aloud and determine the word family to which it belongs. Player then moves their game piece to the next closest spot with that word’s word family.
This game is a great resource for centers as well as a fun game for students and parents to play at home together.
I hope you enjoy this resource! If you like it, please check out other versions of it in my TpT store.
