Following auditory directions is an essential, daily skill. Students who demonstrate difficulty with attention, working memory, and language processing skills are at a disadvantage academically and socially. These colorful task cards have become my go-to resource for listening skills and understanding complex directions.
Set 1 of the LISTEN Task cards presents 28 2-step auditory directions. Each student is given an answer response sheet. Task cards are then read aloud, requiring students to mark their responses on the answer sheets. Directions involve shapes, colors, numbers, order, letters, etc.
Set 2 of the LISTEN Task cards also presents 28 cards featuring more complex auditory directions. Students need to remember directions involving before and after clauses, conditional clauses, exclusions and negation.
How To Use:
1. Print the task cards on cardstock
2. Cut apart and laminate
3. Print 1 copy of the Answer sheets for each student
Watch for additional Task cards in the LISTEN series; including 3-step directions.
