I originally created this activity with auditory processing and listening comprehension goals in mind. However, there are so many ways to use this fun packet! Here are a few ideas:
1. Auditory comprehension: read the directions to build the fishbowl aloud to your students. These range from 1-3 step directions. Have them practice giving directions to a partner.
2. For non-readers: have your students follow the picture directions (included on pages 4-11) on the page to correctly complete the fishbowl. This is also great for those students that need extra practicing following instructions on the board in class or copying.
3. Use the "My Fishbowl" mat (page 20) to go beyond 3 step directions with your students.
4. Use the "My Fishbowl" mat to let your very young students play and create their own fishbowl. Have them describe it to you. Talk about colors and count!
It's easy to print, laminate, and cut to make this an interactive book activity. Punch a hole in the corner of each page and attach a binder ring for storage!
